That's controversial, as so little may be known about electric cigarettes -- which develop a nicotine-infused vapor instead of cigarettes -- and their potential effects on people's health. It is possible that inhaling the vapor is way healthier than inhaling smoke and that the mere handling with the cigarette-shaped device can help you smokers lessen their attachment to real cigarettes.

Alternatively, that vapor may be dangerous to people, delivering nicotine inside of a harmful way, and e-cigarettes could possibly be a gateway to real cigarettes.

Portion of the reason we don't have in mind the answers is these e-smokes are quite recent for the country thereby not well studied. Plus, the us government hasn't quite established how to regulate e-smokes, leaving manufacturers relatively liberated to say what they need about them.

As this report notes, the controversy has taken a new turn as folk have begun using electric cigarette starter kit

 on airplanes -- and posting videos of themselves from the act. 

The U.S. Department of transportation says this is not allowed and apparently intends to impose a ban around the devices' use on airplanes this spring.

But should it be?

One danger that real cigarettes pose but e-cigs don't is a threat of starting a fireplace. And even while smoke can gather within the enclosed space till the air is thick, it isn't really clear that the vapor from e-cigarettes creates identical foggy effect.

I appreciate people that get nervous after they fly; I visualize that employing an e-cigarette can assist calm them down. Whether I must be sitting close to the person "smoking" some may be some other question.
